EmpowHER India Partners with HDFC Securities to promote Financial Literacy in Maharashtra

empowHER India has partnered with HDFC Securities to launch a transformative financial literacy initiative. This collaboration aims to educate and empower over 100,000+ individuals, including adolescents and adults across rural Maharashtra, with essential financial knowledge.

Beginning in January 2025, this initiative will engage diverse groups, including students, parents, and community stakeholders. By partnering with government schools and leveraging local volunteers, it aims to overcome critical barriers to financial understanding. The program focuses on imparting financial literacy to adolescents and community members, building foundational knowledge, enabling informed economic decisions, and promoting sustainable financial behaviour to create economically resilient communities.

Anamara Baig, CEO, empowHER India shares how the collaboration aims to uplift rural communities, especially its adolescents "Adolescents form the majority of participants in this project, representing the next generation of earners, spenders, and borrowers.
